This technical brief gives an overview of a system that uses two cameras in a fixed stereo arrangement to measure the six degrees of freedom of a CMM style probe. This allows the system to measure the 3-D of the probe tip. This scheme combines the benefits of a conventional CMM with a non-contact system.
